What is the Mind Map and How Does It Work?
The Mind Map is an interactive tool designed to surface connections as an exploratory search, starting point, or brainstorming tool. The Mind Map started with a list of millions of concepts from an external knowledgebase which was run against all title content. Any concept not appearing in Infobase content was excluded. Using the revised list, we ran a natural language programming (NLP) process to find relationships between the concepts, based on term frequency, proximity, and other metrics. Using this data, the Mind Map displays the concepts as nodes and the relationships as connecting lines, with the central node corresponding to search results from the content of your Infobase subscriptions. Clicking other nodes will change the search results to match; no nodes should appear that do not have results in your account.
Where to Find the Mind Map?
When you perform a search in the Infobase Platform that aligns with a predesignated concept - as described above - the Mind Map will display on the righthand side. If if is hidden, toggle the collapse button (shown to the right) in the upper right of the Mind Map area.
How to Use the Mind Map?
- Begin a search by either entering a keyword search at the top, or selecting out of the suggested topics.
- The map will display the current search term at its center, surrounded by relevant terms within your Infobase account as a whole.
- Clicking on a related term will place it at the center of the map and alter the entire result page around the new topic.
