Adding Custom Content
To get started, log into the Admin Portal with administrator credentials, then locate the Infobase Platform placard. Click the dropdown on My Content, then Custom Content. (For issues logging into your administrator account, please contact productsupport@infobase.com.)
Click on the New Title button and complete the new title wizard as illustrated below.
Step 1: Metadata
Enter the basic metadata associated with your title.
Please note: Video uploads are limited to a maximum file size of 4 GB. If your file exceeds this limit, it must be reduced prior to upload. This can be achieved using video encoding or transcoding tools to adjust file size, format, or quality settings. Common adjustments include lowering the resolution, reducing the bitrate, or converting to a more efficient file format. Alternately, you may wish to segment the video into multiple parts using editing software.
Supported media file formats:
MPEG-4 and QuickTime Formats (MP4, MOV, QT, and M4V), Flash Video (FLV and F4V), Microsoft Windows Formats (AVI, ASF, WMV, and WMA), MPEG-1/2 (MPG, M1V, M2V, MP3), WAV, Matroska (MKV), OGG OGM & OGV, WEBM, 3GP, RM, Webex (ARF), MXF
Step 2: Subjects
Select subjects for your title. At least one subject is required.
Step 3: Related Resources
Adding related resources is optional and allows multiple resources to be selected.
Step 4: Terms of Use
Before your new title can be uploaded, the terms of use must be agreed upon to certify you have obtained the proper license for the content. Then, click Add Title.
Adding Closed Captions:
Closed captions can be added to custom titles with an SRT file, which is a time-coded transcript file that will populate the closed captions area of your video.
- Click the title of the video to reach the edit screen.
- From the edit screen, click "Captions" in the upper right menu.
- Click the "Upload File" area, then select your file.
- The "Name" field is what will display when the user clicks the cc button on the video.
- The Language field does not display, so you may wish to use "English" or the appropriate language in the name field.
- Click "Save" to complete the upload.
Editing Existing Custom Content
