If your account subscribes to any of the following history databases, content will be located within the "History Center".

- American History
- American-Indian History
- Ancient and Medieval History
- Modern World History
- World Religions
Explore page
Your Explore home page will resemble the below image, with the specific content dependent on your account's subscriptions.
If you have access to more than one history database, you can click on each header to cycle between the Browse pages.
View the predefined curated sliders, such as eras, themes, and maps, with the subject labeled above each.
Searching in the History Center
Enter a keyword or term to being your search. This will begin a cross-search across your subscribed history databases.
To specify a particular database, click the Filters button, then Collections. Choose your database(s) selection, then click Update Results.
Topic Centers
The Topic Centers feature specially selected content, including key subjects, daily life, decades & eras, celebrations & observances, and more.
To browse the Topic Centers, click the Tools tab on the lefthand side.
Timelines
Allows users to visualize historical context through keyword searches and adjustable timeframes, linking directly to resources for a deeper dive.
Click on Timelines from within the Tools tab, then select one to open the interactive timeline which resembles the following. Continue below to view instructions for navigating the timeline.
- After choosing a timeline, click on the fullscreen icon near the bottom to enlarge (or shrink) the window.
- If desired, enter a keyword search to narrow the results.
- Move the sliders at the top to manipulate the timeframe.
- Click anywhere and drag to move your view.
- Use the +/- buttons at the bottom to zoom in or out.
- To see more on a specific item, click on the item which will link out to resources.
- Click the "x" in the upper-right corner or the Esc key to exit fullscreen mode.
